Commissioned by Beijing Municipal Government via an open competition that attracted 2600 applicants worldwide. This outstanding award-winning sculpture strange meeting was selected as was selected as one of the only 26 International monumental artwork’s to be sited in the promenade space adjacent to the world-renowned “Bird's Nest Stadium” to celebrate the cultural arm of the 2006 Olympiad.

 

This 27 Time marble and granite sculpture by Akon is significant as the only artwork for a UK sculptor as part of the international outdoor exhibition. The concept for the sculpture referencing Wilford Owen’s World War I point of the same name is based on notions of reconciliation, linking the linking with the Cultural Olympiad thing. Although the sculpture was commissioned specifically for the Beijing Olympiad, its popularity was meant that it remains located adjacent to the Bird's Nest Stadium to this day at the major artery junction in the Olympic Park. and strange meaning is cited in a variety of media such as Sculpture Journal, Artist & Illustrator.
